Extasy Band Prepares to release their Long-Awaited Debut Album

By Semaj Bernard

After more than 15 years of electrifying stages, entertaining crowds, and building a reputation as one of Dominica's most beloved live bands, Extasy Band is finally ready to tell its own story.

For years, the band has been synonymous with exceptional musicianship, energetic performances, and a commitment to delivering quality entertainment. Whether performing at village festivals, private events, or on one of the country's most prestigious stages, Extasy has consistently earned the admiration of audiences at home and abroad. Yet despite their longevity and success, one thing remained missing from their impressive resume: a full-length album of original music.

That is all set to change.

Speaking on Jael Joseph LIVE: Run Di Track & Talk, members of Extasy Band revealed that their highly anticipated debut album is scheduled for release in early July, marking a significant milestone in the group's journey.

The decision to create an album was not made overnight. For the band, it represents years of growth, experience, and reflection.

"After 15-16 years, come on, we definitely need an album," the band shared during the interview.

While Extasy has built its reputation by performing a wide range of popular music, the members acknowledged the importance of establishing a catalogue that belongs uniquely to them.

"We will not stop playing people's music," they explained. "But then the most important thing is having songs we call our own Extasy."

For a band that has spent years perfecting its craft on stage, the upcoming project is more than just a collection of songs. It is a statement of identity and a chance to leave a lasting mark on Dominica's musical landscape.

The album rollout is already underway with the release of the band's lead single, "Pote Pawol" featuring Luc Leandry, a track carrying a powerful social message.

"The song is really talking about the damage that can be done through power," the band explained. "And also in this song, all those who are carrying and bringing 'bringo'—when you look at them, there's nothing to see; they have nothing to show."

The song demonstrates Extasy's desire to create music that goes beyond entertainment, tackling real-life issues while remaining accessible to listeners.

Fans can also look forward to another release before the album arrives. The band announced that a remix of Pudaz and Paris’ popular track "Shake Something" is set to drop on June 22, adding further excitement to an already highly anticipated season.

As anticipation builds around the album, Extasy Band remains committed to the values that helped them earn their loyal fan base.

In an era where controversy and explicit content often dominate conversations in music, the group is taking a different approach.

"I can guarantee you will not get slackness music from Extasy," the band stated confidently. "We will definitely stick to what brought us and gave us the exposure."

That commitment reflects a philosophy that has guided the band's career from the beginning.

"The name that we have is good music," they added. "So we will definitely keep on that track, so they can expect only positivity from Extasy."

The message is clear: while the band is evolving creatively, they have no intention of abandoning the standards and values that have defined their brand for over a decade.

The upcoming album is more than a debut project; it is the culmination of years of dedication, sacrifice, and perseverance. It is the sound of a band embracing its next chapter while remaining firmly rooted in the principles that earned the respect of fans throughout Dominica and the wider Caribbean.

As the countdown to early July continues, supporters can expect music that reflects the heart of Extasy Band: authentic, positive, socially conscious, and unmistakably Dominican.

After more than 15 years of waiting, the moment has finally arrived.
